...And then there were two!
Welcome to Baby Punkin's blog! Tim, Monica and Addison are very excited about this new addition and next chapter in our lives.
The backstory on the name "Baby Punky" is a little complicated, but any 'Friends' fans should understand.
The very first Dr.'s appt we had involved an ultrasound. Well, since I was not even 6 weeks along, the baby was hardly visible - all we could really make out was a dot that had a tiny flicker (the heartbeat). We went home with the sonogram, which was a very different experience than with Addison who was already 10 weeks along when we first got to see her, so she was already in tadpole baby form.
Well, since this baby was so tiny - I was studying the sonogram one night, still unable to really be able to make it out and started joking around saying, "this isn't really a baby!" and "Come back when you're a baby!"
Tim laughed and said, so is this baby's name Punky? It only took me a moment and I started piecing it together with Tim's help. There's an episode of 'Friends' where Joey dates Soleil Moone Frye (aka Punky Brewster), the schtick of that episode is that she punches a lot jokingly, but the punches hurt - Joey tells her and she punches him saying "Are you making fun of me cuz of my size?"
That is a line Tim and quote a lot, so that's where it came from. Yes, elaborate I know. But it got us a cute baby name!
That is, until Addison adopted the name, and changed it to "Baby Punkin". What Addie says go, so the name is now Baby Punkin :)
Just like Addison is still called Silly Baby at times, I'm sure this name will stick for years as well!
I will continue updating the Silly Baby blog on a regular basis as I have been, but now the two will be linked so everyone can stay up-to-date on our two little Silly Baby Punkin O'Neills :)
